Welcome, here is a summary of my website in English

Nicolette Wever

My motto is:
”Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work

a day in your whole life .." Confucius.

Expertise
I have made my job from what I love doing most: Drawing..
Started as an independent illustrator in 1991,

I moved my field of expertise to visual communication and facilitating round 2005.

I noticed that in these times of communication overload, drawing is more important than ever because 75% of the neurons in our brain is used to process visual information.

Visualization is a means to communicate, to make connections, to understand and to remember.
Unfortunately, many people think that they can’t draw,

or that a drawing always has to be beautiful.

I work partly as lecturer and change facilitator at the Hanze UAS in Groningen, and partly as independent professional in the field of visual communication and creative change.

Experience

My whole life I greatly enjoy working with people. On many occasions I’ve heard that my enthusiasm and flexiblity inspire people to open up and become more playful in order to collaborate in a positive manner.

I regularly team up with trainer-collegues, where my visualization is an asset to clarify the information, address underlying questions, and to anchor the insights (in an artwork).

In my experience a drawing is the visible beginning of effective change.

I regularly team up with trainer-collegues, where my visualization is an asset to

- clarify the information,
- address underlying questions, and

- to anchor the insights (in an artwork).

In my experience a drawing is the visible beginning of effective change.

It works well to:

  •  Understand complex information in one instant
  •  Strengthen the capacity of a team,
  •  Develop a vision or mission
  •  Create ownership and support co-creation

I can help to (re-)gain pleasure and confidence in drawing by teaching teams a basic iconography which can be applied in business settings.

As a certified Scrummaster and lecturer in Design Thinking and CPS, I frequently use visual techniques to support these proces methods, because they

  •  stimulate imagination,
  •  improve collaboration and
  •  enhance the creative climate.

Besides that, it’s fun!

clients say...

" Nicolette is an excellent professional designer. She has that sharp eye, ear and mind to help 'the client' to formulate the right questions in order to solve a creative problem. In fact, you are not 'her client', but her partner in the creative process."

  • Joke M. Terlaak Poot, Senior at Hanze University of Applied Sciences / part time PhD student at Faculty of Architecture TU Delft

"Nicolette is a true all round creative who can turn her hand to most forms of design and illustration. I am always impressed by her versatility not only on the creative front but also the ease with which she adopts new technologies to enhance her illustration work. I have used Nicolette's unique illustration style on many occasions and with great success. She is a pleasure to work with and her contributions have enhanced many a project."
